Best combinations of perks you can desire to have along with Herbalist is Dexterous, Focused and Sharp-eyed. First two will help you with crafting items, including potions, and third one improve the result when searching for herbs.

To craft potions you will need herbs and Firewood. Each type of potion requires one certain kind of herb and one Firewood. You can find herbs in Herbage, and Firewood in Whitewood grove‏‎ or Darkwood grove. If you lucky enough to have Sharp-eyed perk as well, it will help with gathering Firewood too. Should be noted that each Herbage replenish to "Abundant" every night.

What potions to make?

1. Boar's potion and Healing tea are most used potions. You should make them first and have as many as possible.
2. Squirrel's potion and Mint tea also important potions and most of the time used together. Therefore you should have one mint tea for each squirrel's potion. But Mint tea also can be used by itself to remove stomach problems. So it good to have a bit more of mint tea.
3. All other potions have certain use for specific tasks. And also have highest difficulty to craft. So better make them only by demand from other villagers. But not bad to have some amount for future use.
